TripTalk Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

TripTalk: Travel Phrasebook ("the app") is published by Bahar Uddin Raihan ("we", "us"). Contact: busr.bd90@gmail.com.

This policy explains what information the app uses and how. In short: the app has no accounts, we run no servers that store your data, and your learning progress stays on your device. The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects some data as described below.

1. Information stored on your device only

Your learning progress (XP, streak, completed lessons, saved phrases, selected language, appearance (light or dark) setting, reminder settings and subscription status) is stored locally on your device. We do not receive it. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows banner, interstitial and rewarded ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use the following data from your device to show, personalise, measure and secure ads:

DataPurpose
Device and advertising identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID)Advertising, analytics, fraud prevention
Approximate location (derived from your IP address)Advertising, analytics
App interactions (such as ad views and clicks)Advertising, analytics
Crash logs and diagnosticsAnalytics, fraud prevention, security

This data is collected and processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses data in advertising. Premium subscribers do not see ads.

Your choices. Where required (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and some US states) the app asks for your consent using Google's User Messaging Platform before showing personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Me → Ad privacy options. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).

3. Subscriptions and payments

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your card or payment details. Google Play tells the app whether your subscription is active. You can manage or cancel it at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

4. Ratings

The app may ask you to rate it using Google Play's in-app review. The review flow is handled by Google Play; we do not see your account information.

5. Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. This works without sending any data to us. You can turn it off in the app or in your Android settings.

6. Audio

Phrase audio is produced by the text-to-speech engine installed on your device. The app does not record your voice and does not use the microphone.

7. Data sharing and sale

We do not sell personal information. Apart from Google (AdMob and Google Play) as described above, we do not share data with third parties.

8. Data retention and deletion

We do not hold your data on our own servers, so there is nothing for us to delete. Local data is removed when you uninstall the app. For data held by Google (for example advertising data), use the controls in your Google Account and Android settings.

9. Security

Data sent between the app and Google's ad and billing services is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

10. Children

The app is a general-audience travel and language app. It is not directed to children under 13, ads shown in it are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under the age at which you can give consent in your country, please use the app only with the permission of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us at the address above.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA in California and other US states, the LGPD in Brazil, or similar laws in Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, India and elsewhere) you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold your data, please exercise these rights with Google via your Google Account and the ad controls described above, or contact us if you need help.

12. International users and legal bases

The app is available worldwide. Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, showing personalised ads is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time under Me → Ad privacy options (where shown). Without consent the app shows only non-personalised ads, or none, as required. Other processing by Google for ad measurement, fraud prevention and security is carried out under Google's own legal bases as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (including the United States) by Google, using safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

13. California and other US states

We do not sell personal information. Google's advertising services may use device identifiers to show ads; US residents can opt out of personalised advertising through the app's Ad privacy options (where shown) or in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
